Fall Festival – October 30

We’re excited for Germantown Elementary’s Fall Festival on Friday, October 30!  Students in Pre-K through 5th grade will spend the day rotating through fun games, relays, crafts, and fall-themed activities—Field Day style! To make this day happen, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Whether you can help for one station, one shift, or more, every extra set of hands makes a difference. Teachers, parents, family members, staff, and community members are all welcome. Help us make this a fun, memorable day for our students!

Community Schools

As a Community School, Germantown partners with families and our community to provide programs and resources that support student success and family well-being. Your volunteer support helps make these opportunities possible for our GES community. And the more volunteers we have, the more we can spread the love! Here are a few ways you can help:

  • BACKPACK BUDDIES: Help organize, pack, and prepare weekend food bags for GES students. Bags are packed weekly.

  • UNIFORM CLOSET CREW: Love organizing? Have a knack for making chaos make sense? Help sort and organize our gently used uniform closet so GES families can find what they need. About once a month + as needed.

  • “AS NEEDED” VOLUNTEERS: This one is for our “I’d love to help, but I can't commit to a regular schedule” people! We’ll send occasional emails when the Community School office needs an extra set of hands for one-time tasks or special projects. Jump in when your schedule allows — no regular commitment required!

Book Fair

One of the highlights of our school year. Every spring, Germantown Elementary celebrates literacy with the Scholastic Book Fair. Volunteers are needed to set up the book fair, keep the shelves organized, man the register, and break down the book fair. Shifts are typically 2 hours, but any time you can give is appreciated. Email Pam Segal to join the team.

5th Grade Committee

5th Grade is an exciting year for any GES student and their family! There will be many events throughout the year where additional help and planning is needed, for example the annual Italian dinner. Email Pam Segal to join the team.

Field Day

Held in June, Field Day is a fun-filled day of games, activities, and teamwork for our students! Volunteers help make the day a success, and we’d love your support. Stay tuned for a sign-up email from Mrs. Legacy in the spring!

And so much more! You never know when a new opportunity might pop up. Email GermantownES@gmail.com to be added to the email list.

Note: To volunteer for any of our school sponsored events, you must have a current background check through AACPS. Unsure of your background check status? Contact the school. Football parking does not require a background check.
